I studied philosophy and German literature at the University of Konstanz and at the University of Amherst, Massachusetts. Afterwards, I started my PhD as a fellow of the Foundation of German Business at the Center for Ethics in Zurich (UZH). My dissertation on the nature of normativity was supervised by Peter Schaber and Peter Stemmer and profited quite a bit from a research stay at Merton College (Oxford) in 2014. I received my PhD in early 2016.
In October 2016, I started as a PostDoc at the University of Konstanz. I was promoted to Akademischer Rat auf Zeit (non-tenured assistant professor) in 2019. In 2023, I worked as a substitute professor at the University of Trier.
In my non-professional life, I am a father, a husband, a mediocre mountain person, a board- and video game fan, a football coach, and a semi-ambitious rock climber.
